Esperanza means hope

The fact that the opening of our Café Esperanza on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, was such a success was indeed a reason for joy and hope that many guests would feel comfortable and also be able to come into contact with the greatest bearer of hope, Jesus Christ.

What a joyful start it was when 71 people from nine different nations found their way to us on the opening afternoon.

Many delicacies from the respective countries quickly found buyers. Delicious pizzas and empanadas were even made in our community kitchen and served warm and deliciously fragrant.

In the small bistro there was a sweet buffet with Nutella cake, apple crumble and other delicious cakes, some of which were homemade.

Gummy bears and chocolate balls especially made the children’s eyes light up.

But the adult guests and staff were also beaming, as there were so many warm encounters and good conversations between 3:30 and 6:00 pm They could also try their hand at being a „football player“ on the outdoor foosball table, paint hope stones in the creative room, find peace while creating colorful mandalas, and express themselves in writing or drawing on the topic: What gives me hope?

A particular highlight was the piano playing and singing of a 17-year-old blind musician, originally from Iraq and living in Germany with his family for 10 years. His performances received enthusiastic applause.

May it continue, with God’s help, as hopeful as it was at the opening. Cafe Esperanza is intended to be a place for all those who do not want to lose hope or who want to find new hope.

A meeting place where everyone is welcome, regardless of their country of origin, age, family or individual.
